Convergent products provisioning

After the acquisition of Tele2 Spain, Vodafone started the launch of fixed-mobile convergent products making use of the infrastructure (network and IT) of both divisions. The provisioning processes were implemented reusing existing systems to reduce time to market.
Optare Solutions designed and implemented the provisioning process of fixed division for the launch of convergent products, and the required modifications of OSS systems related to order management.
Two important challenges we had to cope with were:
- Very aggressive deadline due to the market and competency.
- Any substantial modification of any system wasn’t an option.
The technical and business key factors which made us succeed were:
- Knowledge of landline based products, their technologies and related processes.
- Optare’s focus on integration, instead of necessarily deploying new systems for new needs, let us meet the deadline and requirements, decrease the impact on the systems.
- Reusing processes previously designed by Optare for fixed line. Thanks to it service oriented nature it was simpler their adaptation to convergent products.
