The Client’s objective was to take out provisioning of the most sold and complex products from the CRM (mainly unbundling ADSL products)
Optare Solutions worked on two groups of tasks:
- Deployment and configuration of the tool: provisioning plans, product catalogue, product specifications, tasks, events, etc...
- Design and development of a distributed connectors architecture between the provisioning tool and OSS systems, based on CORBA technology. This architecture allows for the events automation, bidirectional communication with external systems, exception management, asynchronous processing and resource management to optimize performance and avoid resource shortage.
The years following the deployment Optare carried out the evolutionary maintenance of the integrations and MetaSolv Solutions version upgrades, always targeted on support new business demands, both performance and new functionalities or technologies.
The greatest difficulty we faced in this project was evolving from a heterogeneous way to handle provisioning, which lacked a common structure, to a process oriented methodology, focusing on integrations and following a common architecture.
